Instructions for Establishing CMI User Accounts
Application
- To apply for a CMI User account an applicant must submit a copy of their valid Washington University Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Certificate of Training, a signed Laboratory Specific Training (LST) handout, and a completed CMI User Agreement Letter signed by their Funding PI. The CMI User Agreement Letter provides authorization to the CMI to bill the Funding PI user fee charges incurred by the CMI User. Forms are to be submitted to the CMI Executive Secretary (Marla Means).
- CMI User Agreements expire the last day of the current CMI funding cycle (nominally, August 15th). However, an earlier expiration date can be specified by the Funding PI.
- CMI User Agreements can be renewed or modified anytime by submitting a copy of the Washington University EH&S Certificate of Training for the CMI User, a CMI User signed LST handout, and a new CMI User Agreement Letter signed by the Funding PI.

- Instrument time is reserved using the web-based, instrument sign-up calendars. Consult the specific user policies for a particular instrument that are listed on the sign-up calendar.
- A License expires 1.5 years after the last operation of that instrument.
