The Birth and Infancy of Self-Mending Plastics

After a brief introduction to self-healing and self-mending plastics, the research on self-mending plastics done at UCLA will be described. These are highly cross-linked, reversibly polymerized solids that reverse their status (pre-crack, post-crack) at, or near, the glass transition temperature.
